Taller Socks

One of our patients who came to us with a back problem also had strange sores on both legs. I asked about them. The source? Four happy dogs who scratched her as they greeted her with abounding joy.

The problem here is that this person already was immunosuppressed. This represents a significant risk for staph infection, cellulitis, or sepsis. The orange coloring is our betadine solution. We cleaned these wounds to prevent the infection. Long term answer? Taller socks and calmer dogs.
