More Than Just Adjustments

1.  Disc Injuries
2.  Sciatic Pain
Anchor 3

Disc injuries occur most often in the neck and low back areas because these areas of the spine can move more than the thoracic spine, which is anchored by ribs. If a disc bulges in the wrong place, it can hit spinal nerves, causing pain, numbness, and tingling in the area served by that nerve.

Flexion distraction  is comfortable – no twisting, snapping, etc. – and it is very effective. We also have options for spinal decompression in the neck, low back, and even carpal tunnels.

Pain that radiates from the low back through the buttocks into the leg below the knee is likely from irritation of the sciatic nerve. This is a very common reason for people to seek care due to the pain and how it affects your ability to move.

The sciatic nerve may be irritated from a disc bulge, muscle spasms, or alignment issues. A thorough history and physical exam should provide insight into the cause. Imaging is sometimes done to add accuracy to the diagnosis. A treatment plan will be worked out with you to get you out of pain and back into health as soon as possible.

3.  Extremity Issues
4.  Athletic Injuries
Anchor 1

One of the most frequent reasons people seek care is a problem within extremity. Temporomandibular joints (TMJ), shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles are all treatable with chiropractic care.

Frequently, problems in lower extremities contribute to issues in the spine, and they are treated together to get the best possible outcome.

Athletes come in all sizes and shapes, both genders, and all ages. We see golfers, including some senior athletes from Sun City. I am privileged take care of ballerinas from the Griffin Ballet Theater, football and baseball players from high school, college, and professional levels, and runners with bad knees.

The focus with the athlete is restoration of full function so that they can return to the activity they enjoy. Exercise is not only for physical health, but it helps with mental and spiritual aspects of life. It really is all connected.

5.  Custom Orthotics
6.  Chronic Pain
Anchor 2

Your feet are the foundation for your stance, your gait, and your mobility. We often take them for granted until something happens. Whether from genetics or wear and tear, arches begin to fall at some point. This affects not only how you walk, but how your spine works as well. We use an electronic scanner with lasers to assess the arches with a three dimensional image (https://www.footlevelers.com/). We can then create orthotic inserts to reinforce and enhance the function of the feet. We also use lifts to balance the pelvis that we can attach to the orthotics.

Chronic pain can truly affect your quality of life, from getting out of bed in the morning, to just standing, or even sitting.  There are several different causes of chronic pain. Finding the one that is affecting you so that we can treat it is our concern.
